About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified integrative psychotherapist. My core training is in Gestalt practice and my later training was in relational integrative psychotherapy. I am a BACP accredited practitioner and a full registered member of the UKCP. I work to the ethical frameworks of both organisations. This means working always with your safety and wishes in mind.
Practice description
I work with your feelings and awareness to try and help you find your own answers to the questions you might have. Gestalt theory privileges the belief that each individual has the capacity to become integrated, whole, individuated and so on through one's contact with others and with the world. In fact we are constantly in this state of "becoming." The therapist is an ally, witness and facilitator in this process of growth. This is why it is a relational practice in which both parties are engaged, activated and present.
My first session
Our first session is 50 minutes long. I will take a brief history and give time for you to explain why you are seeking therapy and what you hope to gain from coming. It is a mutual process of "assessment" and there is no obligation on your part. If I feel I cannot best meet your needs, I will try to help you find a therapist who can.
