About me and my therapy practice
My 20 years as a qualified counsellor have taught me many things but perhaps the most important is that there is no such thing as a “one size fits all” way of working. You are different, your needs and expectations will be different... so we will find a way of working together at a pace that best suits you.
My practice offers short and long term work ranging from day to day problems through to complex issues which impede my client's psychological well being or even their physical health
I am currently available offering online sessions through Zoom or Doxy.me during the day/evening. Sessions cost £65
I work as an integrative counsellor which allows me to use the many tools and ideas associated with this comprehensive discipline, which is built on Cognitive and Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Humanistic (Person Centred) inc. Gestalt and Psychodynamic practices with a strong element of Existential awareness. My years of experience with mental health organisations or in my private practice have allowed me to work with a wide range of issues, which include specialised areas such as Post-Traumatic-Stress (PTSD) and other personal crisis type work.
During Covid I am only able to work remotely with clients using Zoom or doxy.me
In more normal times I usually see clients for 50mins at the same time every week. However I can offer some flexibility around shift patterns.
My first session
The first session gives you the chance to see if I might be the right therapist for you needs, and for you to see whether my style of counselling suits you. It gives you an opportunity to ask me any questions you might have before making any commitment. It is very important that you feel comfortable with the therapist you choose. My role as a counsellor during this session is to get to know you, understand who you are, listen to why you have come and what you might need or expect from counselling.
