I specialize in working with people who have suffered trauma and/or abuse of any kind and are suffering from ensuing emotional distress. I care deeply about helping people heal, and in recovering from any of the debilitating symptoms connected with trauma, such as shame, guilt, anxiety, or depression. I am experienced and trained in helping peope on the path towards healing, and I know from my own experience that although this path may seem overwhelmingly difficult, it is one that can be travelled.
I also work with issues around cultural adjustment, living the life of an ex-pat or having grown up in more than one country (Adult Third Culture Kids). Although there are advantages and benefits of living in a foreign country, and of being familiar with more than one culture, it can leave you feeling lonely, isolated and like you don’t belong. Therapy can help you to understand more fully and deal with the conflictual emotions stemming from cultural adjustment.
I consider a therapeutic relationship based on empathy and trust to be essential for the healing process. By offering a safe space, my aim is to give you an opportunity to explore your life and your relationships with others in a way that can help you live a happier and more productive life.
My first session
I offer a 15-minute introductory consultation which gives you the opportunity to tell me a bit about yourself and the reason you are seeking therapy. You are also welcome to ask any questions you may have about my approach to therapy.
