About me and my therapy practice

Registered Counsellor MBACP, UKCP Accredited Psychotherapist, UKCP & HIPC Approved Supervisor. I have extensive experience of working with adults offering long-term and short-term therapy. I offer a free mutual assessment session - subject to availability. I do this because I recognise that one of the most important factors in any therapeutic work is the relationship between client and therapist. Without a strong working alliance the work will suffer. This is why I offer an hour of my time free of charge for you to come and meet with me. You can decide for yourself if you would find what I offer of value, and I will also let you know if I feel I can be of help to you.

What I can help with

Self-harm, Abuse, Anxiety, Bereavement, Depression, Loss, Post-traumatic stress, Trauma, Personal development, Disability, Health related issues, Identity issues, Self esteem, Sexual identity, Sexuality, Adoption issues, Child related issues, Relationships, Sex-related issues, Redundancy, Stress, Work related issues

About me and my therapy practice

Registered Counsellor MBACP, UKCP Accredited Psychotherapist, UKCP & HIPC approved Supervisor. I have worked in a supervisory capacity since 2004. My aim is to bring about a respectful, supportive, nurturing, and at times developmentally challenging environment where thoughts, feelings and issues can be explored and reflected upon. My practice is based on a sound understanding of Humanistic Psychology, Humanistic Philosophy and, in particular, the Person-Centred Approach. I also draw upon my knowledge of a number of other theories that I have studied both independently, and as a member of a CPD group looking at integrative, embodied, and relational aspects of the therapeutic approaches and modalities since February 2015. I have experience of supervising individuals and groups. I have worked with therapists from humanistic, person-centred, gestalt, integrative, and cognitive analytic therapy backgrounds. From my experience of working across modalities I have also become accustomed to working with transference and counter-transference dynamics.
