About me and my therapy practice
Facing a problem alone can seem overwhelming. Stress and anxiety can impact on you, your relationships, and work. As a professional therapist, I have the expertise and empathy to help you. We work at your pace to gain clarity on the problem, rediscover your strengths, and find strategies to attain your goals. You can create a calmer, and happier life with the right support. Email now for a free consultation.
Helping adults with: anxiety, depression, grief, loss, relationship issues, work/university/ school related stress, bullying, abuse, identity issues, support LGBTQ+ clients, and those impacted by trauma.
I work with individuals, not couples.
Also, I support youngsters aged 12-17 to: combat anxiety, express difficult emotions, manage school stress, friendship/relationship issues, low confidence, and issues around change. We work together to boost resilience, self-esteem, and coping skills. Prior to being a therapist, I taught secondary school pupils for over 20 years, consistently providing pupils with academic and informal pastoral support.
The counselling relationship
I will form a safe, professional therapeutic relationship with you by accepting you without judgement and giving you space to talk about your feelings. Essentially, you will be treated with respect and kindness. I help you gain clarity on your situation, goals, choices and strengths. Ultimately, I collaborate with you to create positive changes in your life to enable you to be the best version of you.
Specialist areas with adult clients:
• Anxiety/ depression/bereavement.
• Relationships & family difficulties.
• Work related stress.
• Change/identity, including LBGTQ + issues,
• Finding meaning & purpose.
• Email to book a 15-20 min free consultation.
How do I work with you as a counsellor?
You are always at the centre of the therapy and so the therapy is bespoke to you, but could explore:
- how difficulties are impacting on you,
- processing your feelings,
- your life story and background,
- your values,
- your strengths,
- what your choices are,
- your preferred future outcome,
- and possible actions to realise your goals.
My approach is designed to release your potential for gaining new insights and personal growth, which could help you refresh your life. Seeing you transform your life for the better in counselling is inspirational and a privilege.
What to expect from me?
- Careful listening and empathy,
- a strong therapeutic relationship,
- encouragement, warmth and support.
- I will integrate different humanistic therapy approaches to suit your needs. For example, I may use: relational, person-centred, pluralistic, existential, CBT, creative, and solution focused approaches.
- Clients say:"She allowed me to realise my strengths, empowers me, and gives me a comfortable space to discuss my issues" &" she is unfailingly kind, patient and supportive".
My background is in developing people as a highly experienced teacher and also a leader (in middle management roles). Over several years, I have become a BACP qualified counsellor with a passion for supporting clients' growth . I have worked in two different local counselling charities for over 5 years, as well as for a large online national counselling service, and now have my own private practice.
My first session
In our first session, I will ask you to explain what the difficulties are and what your goal is. We will agree a counselling contract.
Clients find me warm, kind and supportive and I will give you the space you need to talk & to process your feelings.
'Jasmine has been absolutely amazing. She is so understanding, kind and compassionate and is clearly very good at her job.
