I currently have availability to work online throughout the week during afternoons/evenings, with some limited availability for working in person in Hackney Wick on Tuesday and Friday afternoons.
About me and my therapy practice
Most people at some point in their life will find themselves struggling or feeling overwhelmed by a problem, this may be due to something happening right now or it may be to do with something in our past. Or it might just look like everyone else seems to find it so much easier to ‘do life’. We often put a lot of pressure on ourselves, thinking we should be able to cope on our own with everything that life throws at us. But at the same time we would never expect other people to struggle alone, so why should you?
You don’t have to face your problems alone. I am a qualified and experienced person-centred counsellor and have supported people experiencing difficulties with anxiety and depression, stress and burnout, relationship or family problems, low confidence and self-esteem, adhd/autism, childhood trauma, suicidal thoughts, and bereavement.
Practice description
My aim is to offer you a safe, supportive, non-judgemental and confidential space to explore your issues at your own pace. I won’t tell you what you should do, there’ll be no tick box exercises or homework. I believe that you are the best expert on you, but sometimes we might need a little help to explore our feelings and build our confidence. We each have an inner voice that knows what we truly want and what’s best for us. However, life can sometimes make us doubt that voice, and as a result, we may ignore it. Eventually, this inner voice might become harder to ignore, leading to a feeling that something isn't quite right. My goal is to help you tune in to what your inner self is saying and to trust those feelings. Together, we can figure out what feels right for you, what habits work for you, any changes you might want to consider (if any), and what you're comfortable with.
I offer sessions on a long or short term basis, depending on your individual needs.
My first session
It’s important that you find a counsellor who is right for you and that you feel comfortable with, and it may be that you’ve never had counselling before, so the first session is more of an introduction – a chance for you to talk about your reasons and goals for counselling, for me to tell you about the way I work, and for you to ask any questions. You won’t have to decide whether or not you want to go ahead with counselling right away. I’ll ask you to get in touch with me once you’ve had time to reflect on the first session.
I’m currently offering initial introductory sessions online for £30, thereafter sessions are £65. Sessions last for 50 minutes. To arrange an introductory session please get in touch and I’ll aim to respond within 24 hours (please allow longer over weekends and bank holidays).
