About me and my therapy practice

Hi, I'm Linda, I understand that navigating our way through life can be stressful, and confusing because I too have navigated some difficult paths in my own life journey.  Talking things through can help you find direction and clarity, reduce anxiety, and help you view the situation being faced from a clearer perspective.

Taking the first steps towards positive change can feel hard at times, it takes courage and strength, but It's never too late to begin the process. I primarily focus on anxiety, stress, trauma, depression, bereavement, abuse, and low self-esteem.

Life can feel challenging at times, and we all experience different feelings and emotions because of this. These emotions may cause feelings of guilt, anger, hopelessness, and confusion. My role is to support you through the therapeutic process in a confidential non-judgemental space way I listen to your story with warmth and understanding, and where together we can discover new ways for you to manage emotions with a renewed mindset.

Trusting someone new can feel frightening, and can feel difficult to begin with, but together we can work on building a therapeutic relationship at a pace that feels right for you. I know trust takes time to build, and I will not press you to discuss anything that feels uncomfortable, or that you feel is too painful to share.

Because one size does not fit all, I sometimes use elements from different counselling modalities. As a result, throughout our sessions, we can aim to find the best fit for whatever is going on in your life at present and for what has bought you here.

I have a volunteering history in bereavement, anxiety, depression, abuse, and therapy for carers and their loved ones with terminal illnesses. Some of these charities I continue to work with and support. I have also worked for a crisis line offering one-off support in moments of crisis. I believe that everyone deserves help and support when needed, and offering that support is crucial for our well-being.

Practice description

I work alongside clients dealing with abuse, anxiety, trauma, depression, bereavement, low self-esteem, confidence issues,  trauma, and relationship difficulties. Or, if you feel you just need someone to talk to when life's uncertainties seem difficult to navigate.

I offer one-hour face-to-face sessions at my practice in Medway, as well as one-hour online ZOOM sessions. I also offer some home visits if you cannot leave your home due to certain situations that prevent you from accessing face-to-face or an online platform. (This would be dependent on location, distance, and needs).

I keep up to date with Continued Professional Development as required by the BACP, British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and I am a registered member. I adhere to their Ethical Framework (2018) to keep you safe throughout our sessions. I am registered with the ICO (Information Commissions Office and I am GDPR compliant, (General Data Protection Regulation), I am also fully insured.
