About me and my therapy practice

My name is Linda and I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor, which means I use different models of counselling (including Person Centred Counselling and CBT), based in Leamington Spa.  I  offer a confidential, safe, non-judgemental space to work alongside you at your pace, and explore whatever challenges you are currently facing.

It can be hard to reach out for help, and sometimes it can take years to have the courage to take this step, or even believe that counselling can make a difference to how you are feeling in your current situation. However, within a therapeutic relationship, where you have time to give different aspects of yourself, you may become more aware of your own strengths and reach the ability to heal the pain you are in.

In addition to my counselling training I have extensive life experience that informs my respectful, empathic and accepting attitude towards my clients, whatever their background and life history.  Prior to becoming a counsellor, I worked for twenty years within the Educational System.   Part of my training was working as a volunteer at the Centre for Relational Care in Warwick before it sadly had to close its doors in August 2019.

Practice description

As a qualified Integrative Counsellor,  I will listen to you and be respectful of your thoughts, feelings and beliefs.  Reflect upon your past experiences, feel around your present concerns and explore how things might be different for you in the future.   I'm qualified to work with adults (18 or above) and some of the issues I can help with include low mood, low self-esteem, anxiety, sadness, loss and relationship difficulties.

I am currently working online from home conducting sessions via Skype.  I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy and as such attend monthly supervision and adhere to the BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy.

My first session

Following our first contact by email or text message, I will then send you a client user agreement which explains the various aspects of counselling.  It also includes an opportunity for you to complete a personal assessment form and give a brief outline of the main concerns you wish to work on.

I usually offer at free 15 minute introductory session via Skype to see if we would be a good fit for each other.  Let me know if this is something you may be interested in.

Our initial session may probably be the most frightening thought for you. However, this will give us a chance to get to know each other. The ultimate hope is that you feel safe and comfortable working with me.  This is my aim as your therapist.

Please don't hesitate to get in touch with me if you have any further questions or if you would like to book a session.

A reduction in rates is available if you are on benefits or are currently in further education.
