About me and my therapy practice
We all struggle with many things in our lives, be that various trauma, from major or minor incidents, along with equality issues, organisational issues, bereavement, self harm, family issues, depression, anxiety, post traumatic stress disorder(PTSD), personality disorders, and many other issues. No matter how low or out of control these issues make us feel, with the right support and relationship the positive personal growth within us all will fight through.
What you can expect from me is that I will listen to your story in a non-judgemental way, so that we can build a therapeutic relationship together where you can feel safe, supported and able to explore the thoughts you want to share, and work towards you becoming your best self.
It is important that you feel comfortable with any counsellor you work with and that the relationship feels right. Therefore I would encourage you to ask me any questions you wish and, if you do not feel that we are the right match, to continue looking until you do feel right, without feeling any obligation to me or any other counsellor, because the success of counselling has been shown by much research to be helpful to many people if that relationship is the right one.
I am a qualified psychotherapist with a BA Honours degree from the University of Warwick in Person-centred Counselling and the Psychotherapeutic Relationship. I am registered with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), and follow their ethical framework, ensuring that you can expect the highest level of therapy and confidentiality. I have experience of working with children and adults and have a current Disclosure and Barring certificate (DBS). I have also worked within public service for over 30 years and been vetted to a very high standard.
I offer online and telephone counselling, as well as face-to-face counselling in Kenilworth, Warwickshire. Walk and talk counselling is also available if requested.
I have experience of working with children and teachers in primary schools, through to young adults in sixth form, as well as working with adults. I also have over 30 years experience of working in the emergency services with frontline staff supporting a variety of work and personal related issues. I am experienced with working with Trauma, PTSD and severe depression. I work within several business areas providing support, supervision and counselling to business professionals who wish to work in a way to maintain good mental health for themselves and employees who are exposed to high stress situations.
