About me and my therapy practice
Often the most difficult part of entering into psychotherapy or counselling is simply making the decision to start. If you have found your way to this site, you are at least considering therapy. This is a positive first step! It shows real strength to face life's difficulties by looking at them straight on.
At the heart of therapy is the relationship between you and your therapist so it's important that you find someone who you like and trust. I hope that the information found here will help you make the right choice.
I am a qualified psychotherapist and counsellor with a private practice in London Bridge (SE1, near London Bridge and Borough stations). I work with adults and offer weekly sessions to individuals on either a short-term (typically 6-24 sessions) or a long-term (24+ sessions) basis. A session lasts 50 minutes and takes place at the same place, same time and same day of the week.
Psychotherapy and counselling can provide an opportunity for you to think and talk in confidence about personal or emotional difficulties that may be concerning you. It is a time and space to examine, clarify and understand your concerns, and to explore and develop more effective ways of dealing with them. My role as a therapist is to provide support in this process of exploration, understanding and change.
While there are no guarantees of what you will experience, you may find that being listened to by a qualified professional, having the space to explore and time for reflection will help you to regain a sense of meaning and to manage your life better.
