About me and my therapy practice

Bereavement Specialist

Including Loss, Grief, Pet Bereavement, Young persons loss.

I also provide primary counselling in anxiety, Depression, Stress and Self-esteem.

I work to help you through some of the emotions that may come up for you including avoidance, lack of confidence, loss of focus, sleep difficulties and many more.  I have  7 years of Bereavement counselling experience,  working at St Francis Hospice and working with teenagers and young adults at local schools and colleges.  I understand the complex nature of grief and the need for someone to understand the pain and stress this can cause and how I can help you.

I work with the seven stages of grief and use different methods depending on where you are and what your individual needs are.

I will help you re-adjust through loss to be able to continue to live your life in the best way possible leading you to a more enlightened new life.

My specialisation gives you assurance of my skills in this work.  I am also a qualified hospice biographer which allows me to  work with long-term palliative work and pre-bereavement.

I am a qualified integrative counsellor and use psychodynamic and person-centred approaches, but am also skilled in other methods including Transactional Analysis which I will use if I think they are relevant.

I primarily work on the telephone and use Skype or Zoom as an alternative.

Practice description

Stress, Anxiety, Depression and Self-Esteem

I offer a free introductory session to understand if we can work together - by phone.

I will assist you with your emotions and work you through the stages of grief.  I will work to help understand your feelings and through books, creative writing, music and art to find a way to work together.

I would normally expect our work together to take six sessions, but this may be less or more.

If we both feel we can work together, then we will schedule an appointment after this.
