About me and my therapy practice

Hello ... maybe you are thinking about talking to someone? Someone outside of friends and family, that can offer a professional, confidential and non-judgmental space in which to take a breath and think about what's happening in your world and inside of you.

At times each of us may feel overwhelmed, lost, trapped, isolated or invisible. People often choose to seek help because they are experiencing depression, anxiety, confusion or distress in their lives. But you don't have to be in crisis to choose therapy and no subject is off limits.

I will listen and aim to help you to understand yourself better and see choices more clearly and be alongside you as you improve your emotional and mental well-being.

My Masters training in psychotherapy and counselling at Regent's University, London was integrative. This means that I studied the leading schools in the field of psychotherapy, gaining an understanding of how each way of thinking relates to the individual.

This has enabled me to develop an integrated approach that I can tailor to you and your needs wherever you find yourself right now.

Practice description

I deliver psychotherapy and counselling in both the charity and private sectors, working with a broad range of issues and with people from varied walks of life.

I work with clients both long and short term; the number of sessions will depend on you and your needs and what you are comfortable with. Generally I work face to face, but also offer telephone and online counselling. I have undertaken additional training to support this.

Along with individuals, (both adult and adolescent), I specialise in working with parents who want to explore and understand better, their relationship with their children. This is often, but not always, alongside their child having their own therapy.

My first session

This is a chance for us to discuss what has brought you to therapy, I will explain a little more about the process and my ways of working and listen to an overview of your story and any history that you feel is relevant. Most importantly, it enables you to get a feel for me as a practitioner, and whether you would like us to work together moving forwards. Trust your instincts in this session and feel free to ask as many questions as you want to.

Sometimes it is useful to speak to more than one therapist to find the right one for you, I offer a free initial meeting so that you can do this without financial risk.
