About me and my therapy practice
Is life getting you down at the moment? Does everything feel like a huge effort? Do you feel alone in the world, and that no-one understands you?
I'm Trish, an experienced counsellor with a warm and friendly approach. I can help to support you through your troubles in a kind, non-judgemental and caring way. Sometimes life can seem overwhelming, and counselling can help us to gather perspective and to understand ourselves more deeply. We will work through these difficult feelings together.
I work with adult clients in individual counselling, both online and face to face.
As a counsellor, I can offer you a safe and non-judgemental space to explore your current feelings. I can give you secure, confidential support to empower you to find a way forward in your life. As I am a registered Member of the BACP, I abide by their ethical code.
I work face to face with clients in a clinic setting in Paignton, but I am able to offer online sessions via Zoom if this is preferable for you.
My training is as an Integrative counsellor. This allows me to offer a flexible approach to working with you, appropriate to your needs and situation.
My first session
Before your first session I will usually call you for a short chat, during which you can ask me any questions. This gives us an opportunity to ensure that we are happy to work together.
During our first session, we will talk through the factors that have caused you to seek counselling now, as well as practical details, such as session length, cost, timing and frequency. We will plan our future sessions in the form of a contract. There is usually some paperwork at this stage!
It is important to work with the therapist that is right for you, so if you decide at any stage that you would prefer not to continue, just let me know. There may be another person who is a better fit for you.
