How do I begin therapy?
If you wish to begin therapy, the first courageous step is to make contact and arrange a time that we can chat about your concerns. This chat is known as the "Assessment Appointment" acting as a starting point for the process. Assessment is not clinical in the same way as attending a GP or hospital, neither is it interrogative, intrusive or invasive. The space provided is to understand your history leading up to choosing to seek help and a platform for us to decide how best we might work together going forwards. We will talk about confidentiality [NB Notes are handwritten, stored and securely archived], receive a clear overview of the options available and discover what therapy really looks like. If we choose to continue, review takes place approximately every six weeks.
