About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified and fully accredited therapist with a demonstrated history of working for the NHS and in the mental health care field. I am skilled in Individual Counselling, mindfulness and psychodynamic therapy. I work with people experiencing anxiety, bereavement, stress, relationship problems, cultural barriers, abuse as a child or adult, depression or low mood, or changes in life such as divorce, getting older or retirement in both time-limited and open-ended therapy. These sessions tend to be 50 minutes.
Talking to a therapist in a safe and confidential space allows reflection on issues from a different perspective. I offer respectful and non-judgmental space to do so. The therapeutic aim is to enable insight and with time reinforce personal growth therefore enriching personal life. Counselling can help you with experiences such as bereavement,
I trained in Object Relations Theory and my core therapeutic approach is psychodynamic I also apply insights from humanistic, cognitive-behavioral and mindfulness approaches, and from contemporary psychology and science. My therapeutic aim is helping you think about how to make better sense of your life, relationships and experiences.
Counselling is a ‘talking therapy’; a chance to talk and think about your difficulties. It provides a range of support for when you experience difficult emotions, such as low mood, anxiety and stress. It can also support people with managing the practical and emotional aspects of living with long-term physical health conditions.
