About me and my therapy practice

At Herts and Essex Psychotherapy and Counselling, trauma and related issues are at the heart of a lot of the work I do with most clients. That might be Racial Trauma, the oppression of LGBTQIA+ identities, or the impacts of living in our patriarchal, capitalist, oppressive society on other marginalised communities. Or it might be related to a client's experience of Abuse (recent or historical), Loss, or Attachment Issues. Alternatively, it could show up as a symptom of the manifestation of unprocessed trauma by way of Addiction, or Family, Parenting or Interpersonal Relationship Issues, for example.

But whatever it is you're holding, my aim is to provide a safe and healing space to help you both unburden and process, in your own time and at your own pace.

Practice description

Working integratively means I understand that each client is different so tailor the work to suit the needs of the client in a dynamic and flexible way, throughout the therapeutic process. I'm open and transparent about theories and studies that might inform my understanding, and share them with you so that there is no mystery, you see what I see.

Far from the stereotypical blank canvas, my process is informative, relaxed and open. I'm political, intersectional, trauma-informed and consciously work to be considerate of social context & external factors impacting individual clients, in order to provide a fair and equal service to all.
