About me and my therapy practice
At Herts And Essex Psychotherapy And Counselling, Trauma and related issues are at the heart of a lot of the work I do with most clients. That might be Racial Trauma, or the impacts of living in our patriarchal, capitalist, oppressive society on other marginalised GSRD communities. It might be related to a client's experience of abuse (recent or historical), loss, or attachment issues; or it could show up as the manifestation of unprocessed trauma by way of addiction, or family, parenting or interpersonal relationship issues, for example.
Whatever you're holding, my aim is to provide a safe and healing space to help you both unburden and process.
Practice description
Trauma sensitive, culturally competent, intersectional and political - my client work is focused addressing the impacts of living as intersectional members of marginalised communities in our society.
My private practice and charity work is complemented by my passion and commitment to political and social justice activism; I believe in the power of the people to affect change, and that the revolution lies in both fighting the system externally, as well as unpacking and processing how it impacts individuals and manifests itself internally.
Far from the stereotypical blank canvas, my process is intersubjective, informative, relaxed and open. I consciously work to be considerate of social context & wider factors impacting clients, in order to provide a fair and equal service to all.
