About me and my therapy practiceAre you looking for friendly, professional support to help you through difficult times?
I can guide you through the troubles you are experiencing, and help you be free of your anxiety and concerns.
Together we will explore what's on your mind, and you will have space and time to talk openly about your worries.
I will listen with complete acceptance, whatever your situation or circumstances. You can be assured you will be treated with care, respect and empathy.
Perhaps you are feeling drained, worried, overwhelmed or you are struggling to sleep? Maybe you feel agitated and can't concentrate or focus?
Here is an opportunity to offload those thoughts and feelings, and let go of your fear, dread and stress so you can regain clarity and feel calm.
I work with every client in an individual way, as no two people or problems are the same. I look at the whole person, free from labels and conditions. My work is Integrative, with a person-centred heart and I adapt therapy to each client as necessary.
I hold a BA (Hons) in Psychology, a PGCE and a Post Graduate Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling.
In 2020 I qualified as a registered online and telephone counsellor.
My previous background is working with NHS staff, and students.
I have experience working with young adults and extensive knowledge of children and young people.
I offer short or long term counselling and offer a student discount.
Practice descriptionI am currently seeing clients on line via Zoom and over the telephone.
My first sessionI offer a free 15 minute telephone call before you book in so we can introduce ourselves to each other and feel comfortable before our first session. The quality of the therapeutic relationship is important for therapy to be successful, so you need to know that you can feel safe and relaxed. I will explain the process and answer any questions you may have.
On our first session, with your permission, I will ask 10 short questions called a Core 10 assessment, which will enable me to get a better idea of what areas need to be focussed on. I use this in collaboration with what you tell me at that first session.
After our first session, there is no obligation to continue should you feel that we are not right for each other.
If you choose to carry on, we will plan together the timing and duration of sessions. Usually we would aim to plan for 6-8 sessions initially, and review part way through.
