About me and my therapy practice
May 2022: I am working in person (and by video) from my comfortable therapy room directly off a quiet private courtyard close to central Brighton.
I specialise in men's issues, anger, relationships, stress, anxiety, lgbtq+ and loss.
Zoom video or phone are available as well. I have been working by video call for many years.
I am a registered and senior accredited member of BACP both as a counsellor and as a supervisor of other counsellors. I am fully qualified since 2008 (MBACP Snr Accred).
I have worked in my private practice in Brighton since 2011. I am based on Quebec Street BN2 9UZ, the Hanover area of Brighton, close to Queens Park.
Practice description
My approach to counselling
The process is very straightforward. Come and speak about whatever is on your mind. Seemingly irrelevant discussions can often turn out to be essential aspects of the therapy. It works with having a weekly momentum where, unknowingly, progress will be happening between sessions too.
My first session
The first session gives the chance to experience therapy together in person, by video or telephone and see whether we are best placed to work effectively. The session is a discussion of 50 minutes talking about whatever you wish to discuss.
We will work together each week until you find the best point to leave. This may be after a few sessions or you may find you benefit from longer term work. You will feel when it is the right time to stop and, if necessary, I can support you to make the best decision for you.

About me and my therapy practice
January 2022: working in person and online. I offer supervision to counsellors in established practice, newly qualified and those in training. I am a senior accredited supervisor and senior accredited counsellor.
I work in person and online by Teams and Zoom.
If in person, I meet at my private practice on Quebec Street, in the Hanover area, central Brighton.
I value the high standard of supervision received continually since 2005 and I believe this is an essential part of the work as a therapist.
I works with an integrated, psycho-dynamic based approach. Other approaches include person centred, cbt and brief therapy.
I see supervision as offering a space to enable, support and share. It's there to help you provide the best possible experience for your clients. It is essential for you to feel as comfortable, supported and accepted as possible to enable a deep exploration of your successes, as well as your challenges, without fear of judgment, as we reflect together on your skills and processes. I believe we all need to be challenged and are constantly learning from each other.

Supervision sessions can be 60 minutes fortnightly or 90 minutes monthly.
