Therapist - BRIGHTON

Sessions from £70.00

About me and my therapy practice

In person and by Skype, Whatsapp & Zoom video call or by phone are all available. I am 12 years qualified. I specialise in men's issues, anger, relationships, stress, anxiety, lgbtq+, loss. I have been working by video call for many years.  It's different from face to face but just as effective.

Clients by video speak to me in their own home, the office, their parked car or while taking a walk. Wherever they feel safe, comfortable and have privacy.

I am a registered, senior accredited, member of BACP. I am fully qualified since 2008 (MBACP Snr Accred).

I have worked in my private practice in Brighton since 2011. I am based in the Hanover area. I also mentor other counsellors.

Practice description

My approach to counselling

The process is very straightforward. Come and speak about whatever is on your mind. Seemingly irrelevant discussions can often turn out to be essential aspects of the therapy. It works with having a weekly momentum where, unknowingly, progress will be happening between sessions too.

My first session

The first session gives the chance to experience therapy together in person, by video or telephone and see whether we are best placed to work effectively. The session is a discussion of 50 minutes talking about whatever you wish to discuss.

We will work together each week until you find the best point to leave. This may be after a few sessions or you may find you benefit from longer term work. You will feel when it is the right time to stop and, if necessary, I can support you to make the best decision for you.

About me and my therapy practice

I offers supervision to counsellors:

  • - in training,
  • - newly qualified,
  • - in established practice.

I work in person and online by Skype, Zoom, WhatsApp video.

I can meet in person at my private practice on Quebec Street, in Hanover, central Brighton.

I value the high standard of supervision received continually since 2005 and I believe this is an essential part of the work as a therapist.

I works with a predominantly psycho-dynamic based approach, looking at what is present for the client and therapist both consciously and unconsciously. I believe that this approach can also be used to supervise other approaches to counselling such as a person centred, humanistic or an integrated approach.

I see supervision as offering a space to enable, support and share. It's there to help you provide the best possible experience for your clients. It is essential for you to feel as comfortable, supported and accepted as possible to enable a deep exploration of your successes, as well as your challenges, without fear of judgment, as we reflect together on your skills and processes. I believe we all need to be challenged and are constantly learning from each other.

Supervision sessions can be weekly, fortnightly or monthly and last 60/90/120 minutes, which ever suits you.

Fees are:

  • £40 for an hour
  • £60 for 90 minutes
  • £100 for two hours

These fees are reviewed annually.

Availability exists on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
