About me and my therapy practice
Modern life seems to offer more and more challenges, and more and more people are looking for support in facing them. As a counsellor, my role is to provide space and guidance to help you negotiate the current situation you are in, find some understanding, relieve emotional and psychological pain, and return some balance to your life to help you face the demands of the modern world.
I offer a chance to reflect on the challenges and difficulties you are experiencing in a discreet and safe environment with a confidential and non-judgemental approach. Exploring your thoughts, feelings and behaviours with someone from outside your day-to-day life often leads to a fresh perspective – and perhaps a renewed hope for the future. Not only for you, but for the important people in your life too.
Practice description
I am a BACP registered counsellor providing both short and long-term face-to-face therapy to individuals (age 16+) from my discreet private practice in Warsash. I also offer online counselling to individuals from further afield, and to those for whom online counselling is more accessible.
My approach is humanistic and built on the psychotherapeutic foundation of Transactional Analysis. I also hold an MSc in Applied Psychology and often weave neurobiological understanding into client work to offer a ‘whole health’ understanding of what is going on for you.
For clients who are searching for practical skills to manage their emotions and interpersonal relationships, I teach the skills of Dialectical Behavioural Therapy.
I work in a trauma-informed way and I offer a safe space for difference and diversity. My practice is a safe and welcoming space for the LGBTQIA+ community.
In addition to my private practice, I am a co-facilitator of a support group at a local domestic and sexual abuse charity and offer counselling services to other health agencies in the area. I am also an approved CPCAB Counselling Tutor.
My hope for you is insight and understanding, and importantly, to facilitate the change you want for yourself.
