About me and my therapy practice
Hi, my name is Anna, I qualified as a counsellor in 2011. I am a registered and accredited member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, MBACP (Accred). Accreditation with the BACP is a professional recognition of the quality and experience of my practice. I am also a member of the Association for Family Therapy and Systemic Practice (AFT).
I work from my home therapy clinic, based in Cuckfield, Sussex where I offer couples counselling, individual counselling and counselling for young people in the Mid-Sussex, East Sussex and West Sussex areas, such as Haywards Heath, Lindfield, Burgess Hill, Crawley, Horsham, Brighton, Hove, East Grinstead and Lewes. I also offer remote counselling regardless of your geographical location in the UK. I work with clients weekly.
I know from the years of experience of counselling that growth and change is possible. My work as a counsellor is incredibly important and meaningful to me and I feel privileged in the work I do.
Couples usually come to counselling as they want to communicate better, have more intimacy, resolve conflicts, understand how to move forwards after an affair, loss or support with separation. Some of the main reasons individuals come to counselling are to find ways to cope and get support for anxiety, depression, stress or feeling sad. They may be feeling this way because of a variety of reasons, such as coping with a loss, family and relationship difficulties and low self-esteem.
Counselling is a weekly commitment to yourself, the regularity enables us to work more effectively and provides you with a therapeutic framework of safety and trust. I provide regular opportunities to review the work with you, to ensure that the counselling continues to feel useful to you.
I mainly draw on Gestalt (which is a highly positive and integrative humanistic form of therapy), Systemic and attachment theories in my work, as well as interests in other modalities such as psychodynamic and existential theories.
My first session
I offer an initial free brief telephone call. This will be an opportunity for us to discuss your reasons for seeking therapy and for you to get a sense of me and how I work. I can also ensure that the worry you are seeking counselling for is something I can safely and competently work with and you can ask me any practical questions. If in agreeance, we will then arrange an appointment for the initial consultation.
Sessions for Individuals, Young People and the initial consultation are £55 (50 minutes)
Sessions for Couples and the initial consultation are £80 (60 minutes)
Session fee for individual sessions as part of couple work £60 (60 minutes)
I may be able to offer concessions for counselling students or those on reduced income. Please let me know if you would like to discuss this possibility.
I aim to respond to emails and messages as soon as possible.
