About me and my therapy practice

I work in a client-centred way where the client’s needs are at the forefront of our therapeutic journey. I will support you in a non-judging and safe place, for you to explore your feelings, struggles and concerns. My counselling background includes clients who are experiencing domestic and sexual abuse, depression, anxiety, bereavement and loss, loneliness and isolation, work and study stresses, family and relationship difficulties, identity struggles and low self-esteem. I have over ten years’ experience supporting young people (13+) including young people with disabilities, young offenders, children in care and young carers. Further to this I have experience supporting adults with disabilities and their families, specifically acquired brain injury and stroke. Alongside my counselling training, I have a BA (Hons) degree in Fine Art and often use creative therapies within counselling work. I also have specialist knowledge and training in mental health, sexual health, stopping smoking, child bereavement, stroke care, safeguarding, domestic abuse, substance misuse, LGBT, forced marriage and honour based violence. I can provide 1:1 counselling, group work, wellbeing workshops and short courses, awareness training for local organisations and professionals.

I work as part of a team of counsellors at a local counselling practice based near St Neots, for more information visit www.riverwoodcounselling.co.uk
