About me and my therapy practice
Whatever has brought you to counselling is a positive step towards regaining control of your life. Whilst there might be a specific issue you want to work on, there might be something less specific. Perhaps you feel that something needs to change but feel unsure about how to do this.
Counselling allows you the support and space to think about you, and as your counsellor, you can talk to me about anything in confidence and without judgement.
Using a psychodynamic approach I will help you to explore how you think and feel about your relationship with yourself, with others and with the world you live in, as well as how repetitive and unhelpful patterns of behaviour might be holding you back.
I will help you to explore your current or past difficulties and over time, you can feel more confident in talking things through. As you begin to understand more about how you think and feel, this can help you to make decisions that are right for you.
Counselling begins with a consultation.
We will meet for 50 minutes which allows us the time to get a feeling for what it would be like to work together. I will listen to you and ask you some questions as this will help me to understand what you are looking for from counselling. Often feelings that might have been put to the back of your mind can surface, so I will work alongside you to ease any concerns you might be experiencing.
I offer open-ended or time limited sessions on a once-weekly basis and together we can think about what is the best way forward for you.

I work with adult men and women of different ages, backgrounds and cultures around issues of anxiety, depression, work-related stress, relationship difficulties, grief, loss and loneliness.
