About me and my therapy practice

A warm welcome,  I'm Jenni.  More than ever, as we navigate and respond to COVID-19, we are being challenged and our patience and tolerance tested daily.  I understand how overwhelming life can feel.

Demands of work, study/Uni, family and relationships can affect us.  Perhaps you are facing long term illness or physical changes in your life?  The pace of life may feel too fast with little time to breathe, or perhaps painfully slow. Decision making becomes tough and we can easily loose focus of our own needs, particularly if others depend on us too.

Some people have a good idea what might be at the root cause of their unhappiness.  For other's, it's just not that simple.  I'm here to help you untangle it all and facilitate you towards an improved sense of wellbeing and better equipped to manage your life.

I work with a number of different psychotherapies which focus on bringing about change.   I help my Clients grow in self-awareness to recognise where and why they may be feeling stuck.   By gently introducing new ways of thinking, it's easier to learn how to reframe how we see things.

As an Humanistic Integrative Counsellor, I'm able to tailor therapy to suit your individual needs.  You'll have the opportunity to shares things from your perspective, an opportunity to talk and be listened to.  I might reflect on what I've notice you say or gently challenge your way of thinking.   Other times we may work more creatively.  Your therapy is as individual as you are  - after all, no two people are the same.  I provide a safe and private space for you to talk confidentially and make sense of your thoughts and feelings.

Whatever your story may be, I'm All Ears, and I'm here to hear you.

Practice description

Based in Chailey, just outside Lewes, I've worked in Private Practice since 2017, offering therapy through my service All Ears Counselling.   I want to see an end to any remaining stigma around mental health and encourage everyone to see therapy as normal as visiting their GP.

I enjoy working with Older and Younger Adults throughout East and West Sussex across a wide and varying range of issues including bereavement and loss, anxiety and depression.   At the moment my practice has moved on-line via Zoom.  This enables me to continue offering the same confidential support to all my Clients in a safe environment, whilst we allow for the necessary vaccine rollout and adaptation to Covid-19.  I look forward to returning to face to face sessions as soon as I'm possibly able to.

I have experience working with the wonderful charity Oscars Wish Foundation, offering bereavement and counselling support to couples and families who sadly experienced baby loss through neo natal death, miscarriage, stillbirth or complications from IVF.

I have also volunteered for the local Charities Sussex Community Development Association (SCDA) in Lewes and Newhaven and Care For The Carers in Eastbourne.

Counselling has been invaluable in my own life and I have personally experienced how supportive and life changing therapy can be.  I really enjoy being able to offer to others the experience to feel differently about the way they currently do and to help them on the way to a better sense of wellbeing and healing of past or present pain.

My first session

To begin with I will invite you for an Assesment Session to discuss what it is you'd hope to get from your time with me, and to tell me a little about yourself and your current situation.  I'll also ask you some questions about your medical and family history and give you some helpful information what you can expect from your sessions.

This also gives you the opportunity to ask me any questions you may have and you are under no obligation to book with me. It's important that you find the right therapist for you, so feel free to take time in choosing.

Working in blocks of 6 sessions, the overall number of counselling sessions will be dependent on your individual needs which we will cover at the assessment.

All Counselling sessions are £50 Duration 50 minutes.

All Assessment sessions are £20 and also 50 minutes.

Student and concessionary rates of £40 now available.  Please ask.
