About me and my therapy practice
I am a BACP accredited counsellor & psychotherapist with more than 25 years of clinical experience. I work with individuals and couples and support parents of children with mental health problems.
Although I primarily work with clients in person, in certain circumstances I am able to offer counselling sessions online.
In 2019 I completed a post qualifying course in couple therapy with Tavistock Relationships. This training provided me with an in-depth understanding of the dynamics within couples and how to work with couples more effectively.
Prior to becoming a counsellor, I was a social worker within mental health. For more than 12 years I worked as a GP counsellor within the NHS.
My specialism is in short-term counselling (please look on my website for further information: www.ingridschultz.co.uk), but I also offer time-limited & open ended counselling contracts.
The initial appointment with a new client or a new couple is used as a counselling assessment. This is an in-depth exploration about why the individual or couple is coming now, what they are looking & hoping for from counselling, their current circumstances and their past history.
Seeking counselling is a brave step, especially if you have no previous experience. But it can be a huge relief to be with a professional person in a confidential setting where only you matter.
My practice on the Bath side of Frome is easily accessible from Warminster, Westbury, Trowbridge, Radstock, Shepton, Wells and the surrounding villages.

About me and my therapy practice
I qualified as a psychodynamic supervisor in 2006.
I offer supervision to trainee or qualified counsellors either individually or in small groups. I can also offer telephone supervision. (please see further details on my website:www.ingridschultz.co.uk).
I currently work one day a week as a supervisor for a large counselling organization (GCS) in Gloucestershire.
As a supervisor I offer an environment of respect, trust, openness and honesty. My aim is to support and enable a supervisee to the best of my abilities, but also to provide a holding and nurturing environment, as at times counselling work can be very challenging and demanding. I encourage each supervisee to develop their own way of working within the BACP Ethical Framework.
I offer a support, mentoring and a read-through service to counsellors working towards BACP accreditation.
I also offer supervision to professionals within the helping and health professions, who would like to reflect on and think about their work.
