About me and my therapy practice

Hi, my name is Leeanne, I hold an MSc in psychotherapeutic counselling. I work with a large range of issues including relationships, burn out, grief, trauma, male and female survivors of sexual abuse, male and female circumcision, and domestic abuse. 

I am a trauma informed therapist with over 20 years experience of working with frontline emergency services. I also counsel survivors of sexual violence and domestic abuse for a national charity.

I passionately believe that everyone has something in them to value and nurture and that no one is beyond help. I believe everyone deserves a chance to be happy and to live a rich and peaceful life. I understand it is not always easy asking for help, however, if you are reading this you have already taken the first step.

 My approach evolves from a shared exploration and understanding of each client’s issues, I employ a methodology that places you at the centre of our sessions. I will work with you to design a bespoke therapy that is tailored to meet your needs with the aim of achieving your goal of a better, brighter future.

Practice description

I understand that your journey throughout life may have brought you to a point of feeling overwhelmed, consumed and stuck resulting in not being able to progress as you would like. It may help to find someone who will help you to begin to make sense of these emotions, gain some clarity, think rationally and work towards a peaceful and more optimistic future.

I work with therapeutic modalities that suit your specific emotional needs, ranging from Humanistic, CBT, Gestalt and Systemic therapy. I will help you to develop your self-awareness, find your true self and empower you by gaining an understanding of how and why you react to certain situations, in turn, enabling you to manage your emotions and life more effectively. By understanding why you make certain choices, that may not always be in your best interests, will allow you to discover yourself through therapy. This awareness will enable you to accept and value who you are.

My first session

Please contact me for a free 15 minute initial telephone discussion. Here I will answer any questions you may have, and I can gain an understanding of how you could benefit from therapy and help guide you towards the service that is most suitable. Sessions are face to face in my modern counselling room, or online.
