About me and my therapy practice

I have had many years experience of helping people at times of personal crisis.  I offer regular psychotherapy sessions to patients who want to understand why they feel the way they do, and need  help to take the first steps towards feeling better.

I help you make useful links from the past which seem to be affecting you in the present so you can find ways of being more in control of your life and more realistic about how you feel about yourself.

Practice description

At CENTRE I work alongside other therapists who are interested in healing the whole person.  I offer psychodynamic therapy which requires regular weekly attendance but you might also benefit from the range of approached available such as mindfulness, meditation techniques, or massage.

I also offer walking therapy which is a helpful way of regulating your emotions and can sometimes feel less intense than regular face to face therapy.

My first session

Your initial session is free of charge and will be an opportunity for us to explore whether we can work well together.  We will sit in a room within the peaceful grounds of Middle Aston House and chat comfortably whilst I find out what is troubling you, I will ask about your childhood and important people in your life.  You can also ask me about how therapy works for you and any questions that come to mind.  I will keep an eye on the time so that you can relax into the session as much as possible.  Sessions usually last 50 minutes.

About me and my therapy practice

We all need to reach out to someone at some point in our lives.  Finding the right person, or the right type of help can be overwhelming.  I offer a free introductory session to help you navigate the choices available to you.

I provide weekly psychotherapy sessions at Shipston.  If you need help to understand and manage your feelings,  I aim to help you move from a position of 'coping' or barely managing, to a point where you can learn how to live more fully; to enjoy good experiences and accept kindness.  We can sort out the bad stuff that lurks inside that might make you believe you are undeserving.

The aims of psychodynamic therapy is to enable you to get in touch with your deeper feelings so you can begin to act with more self-awareness and begin to make real choices in life.  I have had a lot of experience with people from many walks of life and have an innate ability to put you at ease.  This will help us to progress your treatment and realise your potential to live the full life that we are all born with.

Walk and Talk Therapy

My first session

I will greet you in the reception area and show you to your seat.  The room at Shipston is on the top floor so there are stairs to climb unless you are disabled.   After initial introductions I will ask you to tell me about your childhood and important people in your life now, and in the past.

We will also discuss what brings you to therapy now and what changes you would like to make in your life.

Sessions last approximately 50 minutes and I will ensure we finish on time leaving you free to relax, and to allow yourself the time and space to think.  I would encourage you to ask me questions at anytime but most especially before committing to therapy with me.

Practice description

Psychodynamic therapy is suitable for people who are curious about the way their mind works and who seek a better understanding of what motivates their choices and why they fear certain situations.   By looking at your unconscious processes you are better able to help yourself.
