About me and my therapy practice
My work and approach are base on modern/creative therapeutic approaches. I offer an antidote to one size fits all therapy. I practice as progressive therapist, using contemporary approaches working with trauma, attachment, autism, adhd, fasd, spd among other conditions. Using Polyvagal Theory/Developmental attachment theory and Flow theory to inform evidence-based practice. I also offer, Safe & Sound Protocol (SSP), DDP, Somatic experiencing, with integrative humanistic psychotherapies.
My private practice is based in The Old Chapel, Redland, Bristol. There is on-street metered parking and Redland train station 5 minutes walk away. There are also several bus routes serving the local area.
My first session
The orientation of the initial session largely depends on the type of therapy, for some therapies the initial session is included in the therapy package. and may form part of the first session. For others it might be a standalone session to agree the format of therapy.
During this time we can expect to think about whether the approaches and skills on offer are a good fit for your circumstances. It may also be a good time to explore how we may contract the work. For example, having a think about how many sessions we may agree initially, what that might cost and the frequency of sessions (can be worked flexibly) to fit with the therapeutic approach.
Session lengths can vary and are usually agreed based on the therapeutic approach.
