About me and my therapy practice

We have all had a unique and perhaps upsetting experience of a global phenomenon.  As you step out into your new normal you may need some help to process your experiences and how to shape your future within this new landscape.  I offer professional support through a variety of theories and techniques to deal with immediate feelings of stress and depression as well as deeper exploration of how historical experiences may have affected your current responses and reactions.  It is important that you feel in control of your own therapeutic journey and I therefore offer professional support at your own individual pace to support your hopes and aspirations whilst recognising that those hopes may have changed significantly during 2020.

Practice description

I am experienced in helping clients to navigate through difficult, depressive, anxious and exhausting times whilst maintaining a family life and work balance.  I recognise the difficulty in trying to continue with your life whilst feeling empty, low or overwhelmed.  I create a place for you to pause and reflect to enable you to make considered, essential and impactful decisions.  My goal is that you feel more alive, more present and more the person you want to be in order to live more consciously, authentically and happily.   As a parent and former city lawyer I am familiar with the rigours of corporate and family life and I know there are no prizes for suffering alone.

I have specialist experience of helping clients who are managing life-limiting illnesses and bereavement.  I also have experience of supporting doctors and dentists in crisis.  I am compassionate and caring and committed to the process of counselling.

My first session

In our first session I look to understand why you have reached out for professional help at this particular time.  I will ask some questions to understand the context of your current struggles.  However, the most important aspect of our first session will be for you to feel comfortable with me, sharing your thoughts and feelings.  Our first session is therefore about establishing trust and rapport before we go on a journey together during which I will be alongside  you every step of the way.
