About me and my therapy practice
Hello and welcome to my page.
Looking for a counsellor and beginning counselling is a really brave step. It may be that you don’t know what is wrong, only you have a feeling something is or you’re searching to target a specific issue troubling you, I’m here to support you to find a way through.
I am an experienced and qualified Person Centred Counsellor, which means I adapt my style of working to meet the needs of the client individually. I believe in cultivating a strong working relationship with my clients in order to help them grow.
I specialise in working with loss. Loss can take many forms beyond death, these are called ‘living losses’. This list is extensive but might include processing the impact of the loss of a childhood that was needed but never was, a relationship breakdown, job loss or loss of physical abilities through accident or illness. I will work with you exploring and unpacking how these unprocessed losses may be manifesting in your life now through numbness and detachment, anxiety, depression, OCD, addiction, co-dependency, anger and illness to name a few.
Having been the Lead Group Facilitator in an Addiction and Domestic Abuse Agency and currently a Counsellor in a Hospice working with Pre and Post Bereavement clients and clients with a Life-Limiting Diagnosis, in addition to my own Private Practice, I’ve covered a lot of bases and experiences and continue to do so.
If you’ve read the above and feel I might be the therapist who could be the right ‘fit’ for you, please feel free to contact me for an initial consultation to see how best we can work together.
I offer Counselling on the telephone and online, both short term (6 sessions) or long term depending on your needs. I also offer some ‘out of hours’ sessions for international clients and those working shifts. All calls are made to a secure UK landline or mobile number or via Zoom or WhatsApp (video or audio only). International client’s online options only.
In addition to the above I also offer Walking Counselling in Hertford (UK). This option can be a really helpful tool in talking therapy as it allows us to meet face to face and be out in nature.
I hold a Foundation Degree and a BACP accredited Diploma in Counselling and I am a fully registered member of the BACP. I am also DBS checked and fully insured.
