About me and my therapy practice
You might be feeling a little confused right now over the many different therapies on offer so I would encourage you to start by asking yourself whether you feel you might be able to connect with the therapist you choose. Does what they have to say resonate with you?
I believe that far more important than the modality of counselling used, will be the relationship we will build together. Will you feel safe enough to peel of the layers and delve down deep enough to curiously explore what is holding you back or keeping you stuck in unhelpful patterns of behaviour?
Perhaps it would help to know that I’ve worked hard to find my own path through and have been rewarded with a peaceful more connected life.
I trained as an Integrative Therapist over the period of four years. I have learned humanistic and psychodynamic approaches but we are all individuals with our very unique ways of approaching life and the inevitable ruptures we all experience from time to time and through working with many clients from all walks of life I have come to appreciate how much of our healing can be brought about through trusting and healthy relationships.
I use Petruska Clarkson’s 5 step relationship model as a framework for the duration of our sessions together.
I continue to build my knowledge through regular CPD and through researching for writing and have a special interest in trauma and how our experience of it may lead us to go into hiding and stop us from living in an authentic way. Authenticity for me is the key ingredient for a happy and fulfilling life but far too often that authenticity gets swallowed up by our need to please or conform.
