About me and my therapy practice
I am a BACP Registered Integrative Counsellor. I offer a secure, supportive, non-judgmental space where issues can be explored in your own time. I will not tell you what to do or give advice; I am there to work with you to look at what you think is best for you. I will walk alongside you by offering support, encouragement, empathy, guidance and gentle challenging.
I work in an integrative way, using different counselling theories. The theories I practice are:-
* Person-centred - offering you acceptance, empathy and working alongside you to look at your core conditions and self worth
* Cognitive behavioral - that can help you manage your problems by changing the way you think and behave
* Psychodynamic - exploring how your unconscious thoughts affect your current behaviour
* Existentialism, exploring meaning through a philosophical perspective
I believe these therapies can help you in making positive changes and explore new ways of thinking.
If you feel comfortable in doing so I can also use visual exercises to help you explore how you are feeling and you will have the opportunity to explore your feelings through the use of mood cards, stones, etc.
I can work both short and long term.
