About me and my therapy practice

Challenged by anxiety, depression, low mood or low self esteem? Life feeling a bit overwhelming? Stubborn habits that just won't shift? Or are you sadly bereaved, or struggling with emotions that are super tough to deal with? Well if you are ready to feel calm, to gain clarity, to find balance, to finally make 'that' change and flourish, or to learn how to be at peace with what is, I'd really love to hear from you.

I use a unique blend of therapy depending on what you need, taking fom the potent REBT (a type of CBT) and Mindfulness. Now glad to also offer Emotional Feedom technique (EFT), sometimes referred to as 'tapping', and hypnotherapy. Conditioned thinking processes and 'wonky' perspectives can trip us all up. Maybe it's time slow down, step back, take a breath and get curious ...

I will offer you a confidential and compassionate space where I aim to be completely present with you, and to HEAR you. Together we can explore your thoughts and feelings, and I will use empathy and all my knowledge and experience to help you in the very best way that I can, in a way that is right just for you.

Practice description

I have worked in private practice, in person from Dec 2011 - March 2020 since when I have worked exclusively remotely . This is an effective method of accessing the help that you seek, and you are invited to join me from the comfort of your own home or other convenient, confidential space.

You will need a good internet connection (for Zoom or WhatsApp), a fully charged device and privacy for about 50 minutes.

If short term work is appropriate for you, check if you can access help through your employer. Employee Assistance Programmes (EAPs) I am affiliated with: Care-First, Health Assured, Telus/Life Works and Workplace Options.

My first session

In our first session together, we will get to know each other and you can let me know why it is now in particular that you are reaching out and what it is that you are hoping for. We will look at what approach and interventions might be useful for you, within the integrative counselling framework. Once we have acknowleged that we are a good fit to work together,  we agreee on a treatment plan.
