About me and my therapy practice

I offer long and short term counselling/psychotherapy on a 1-2-1 basis to individuals who wish to explore the difficulties they face in their lives and how these may affect their emotional, psychological or physical wellbeing. I am committed to working within a confidential, supportive and non-judgemental environment and building a respectful and creative therapeutic relationship supporting growth and change. Through my work at an NHS funded LGBT counselling service, two domestic abuse agencies, a GP surgery and private practice, I have experience of working with a wide range of emotional and relational issues, including family/relationship difficulties, stress, anxiety, depression, anger, trauma, abuse, bereavement, loss, work problems, sexuality and gender. I offer an affirmative approach to gender, sexuality and relationships.

I am BACP registered and accredited and adhere to the BACP Code of Conduct.

Practice description

I see clients at a small, comfortable and quiet counselling room in Kings Heath, South Birmingham. Each appointment lasts 50 minutes. My fees are £50 per session, although a small reduction may be negotiable depending on circumstances. After an initial assessment period, if we agree to continue, I see individuals on a weekly basis. Please contact me for an initial chat or to arrange an appointment on 07709 101264.

My first session

On your first visit we can discuss together what brings you to counselling, what you are hoping for and whether my style of working makes sense to you and your needs. It also gives you a chance to ask any questions and gives us both the opportunity to get an idea of whether we could work together - this is an important part of establishing a therapeutic relationship.
