About me and my therapy practice
My way of working as a counsellor is to offer a confidential and non-judgmental space in which you will be listened to, and given time to explore your experience, your thoughts and feelings. The counselling relationship which I offer is warmly accepting of you as you are. My approach is person-centered and Integrative, this means that in my work I draw on the insights and understanding from psychodynamic and humanistic theoretical backgrounds. I believe that every person given the right conditions can grow, overcome difficulties and live more fully.
Before undertaking counselling training and studying for a BA Hons in Integrative -Relational Counselling I worked for over 20 years as a palliative care nurse offering nursing and psychological care to patients and families in a hospice.
I work in an open ended way and would see you for a 50 min session weekly, or for a fixed time for example six or ten sessions if we agreed on this together. I abide by the BACP code of ethics and my work is supervised by a senior practitioner.
