About me and my therapy practice

Hi, I'm Angie, a Counsellor/Psychotherapist/Supervisor with over 30 years of experience supporting individuals, couples and families face-to-face, via video link or telephone.

I specialise in Anger-management, Addiction, Anxiety, Depression, Marriage Counselling, Panic, Relationships and Stress.

I’m also an independent Funeral Celebrant.

As well as seeing general clients, I also see people covered by AVIVA, AXA, CIGNA and some other healthcare companies.

I'm ranked 1st out of 277 UK Counsellors on FreeIndex. Some reviews are below. These are vetted and validated by Freeindex.

I work eclectically which means using different approaches to help my client with the difficulties they may be facing.

I provide a non-judgemental atmosphere where you'll discover patterns of behaviour that could be holding you back and making you repeat the same mistakes. If you are looking for someone caring, knowledgeable and committed to helping you, call me on 01707 707957.

Session fees are: Individual, 50 minute sessions £85, couple's £130 and families £145.

Please ask me about concessions. I also run a counselling agency,  offering reduced fees. Please ask for details if money is an issue.

I am based in Essendon but see clients virtually all over the world.

I also work with healthcare and insurance companies, including AXA, AVIVA, Allianz Partners and CIGNA

Practice description

“Without the guidance of Angie my husband and I would most certainly be divorced. Through many sessions we have reached a point where we can use the tools we learnt to deal with our marriage in a positive way. We are very thankful to Angie for being open, supportive and non-judgemental. I would say the anyone on the brink of a break up or divorce- call Angie!” KS

“I found her extremely professional, committed and caring. All the qualities that one needs in time when counselling is needed. I am personally grateful to Angie for her support in difficult times. Based on my personal experience of being under her care, I would highly recommend her.” LL

“I sought out some therapy for myself, to make me a better parent, partner and general human. I decided to go with Angie because of her past experience and her confidence to help. Angie is really personable and extremely easy to get along with. She can be quite subtle in her approach which I perhaps found difficult to start with as I wanted to be constantly working hard; which is probably another area to work on for the future! She also has helpful documents and book suggestions, if that's helpful to her patients. I only spent six months with Angie, as I'm about to have a second child, plus I couldn't afford to keep going weekly. I imagine once life settles a little with 2 kids; I'll be back but less frequently.” GH

“I visited Angie for about 18months. When I first went to see her I was not in a very good place in my life. I can honestly say with her great experience and assistance she’s helped me beyond belief. Her character is so warm and not the slightest bit judgemental. I’m now in a great place in my life and cannot recommend Angie enough.” SA

My first session

I offer a FREE, no obligation, 15 minute telephone/video consultation so you can ask questions before making a decision on whether you'd like to have counselling with me. You can book an appointment here: https://calendly.com/angie-herts-counselling

The next step would be to book a 75 minute assessment. This is an opportunity to talk about the issues you're currently facing. We would discuss in the assessment how we could progress and move forward. Thereafter sessions are 50 minutes in duration.
