About me and my therapy practice
Since qualifying 17 years ago, I have worked with a wide variety of clients, offering one-to-one counselling both short and long term. My training was in psychodynamic counselling, which looks at how events in the individual's early life can influence present experiences and behaviour. I place great emphasis on the relationship between counsellor and client and aim to provide a relaxed and informal home environment in which the client feels contained and comfortable. At the present time I am offering telephone counselling until face-to-face sessions can take place again.
Practice description
The room in which counselling sessions take place is homely and peaceful. I live approximately one mile from Chelmsford city centre and the mainline train station. Parking is available outside the house and I am close to a bus stop from which buses travel regularly into the city or elsewhere.
My first session
The first session will be an introductory one, when you can tell me what brings you to counselling and what you would like to achieve from the time we have together. It is important that you feel comfortable working with me and you do not need to make an immediate decision about whether you wish to have counselling. You do not need to commit to having a certain number of sessions, but if you decide to go ahead we can continue for as long as it feels helpful.
