About me and my therapy practice
Since qualifying over 20 years ago, I have worked with a wide variety of clients, offering both short and long term one-to-one counselling. My training was in psychodynamic counselling, which looks at how events in the individual's early life can influence present experiences and behaviour. I place great emphasis on the relationship between counsellor and client and offer a relaxed and informal environment in which the client can feel contained and comfortable. I provide face-to-face sessions in an attractive and peaceful garden room adjacent to the main house.
Practice description
I live just over a mile from Chelmsford city centre and the mainline train station. There is ample parking on the driveway and there is a bus stop opposite the house from which buses run regularly into the city or elsewhere.
My first session
The first session will be an introductory one, when you can tell me what brings you to counselling and what you would like to achieve from the time we have together. It is important that you feel comfortable working with me and you do not need to make an immediate decision about whether you wish to have counselling. You do not need to commit to having a certain number of sessions, but if you decide to go ahead we can continue for as long as it feels helpful.
