About me and my therapy practice

Hi, I’m Jaye, a Humanistic & Integrative Therapist based near Arundel, West Sussex.

I remember searching for a therapist by scrolling through these pages and I appreciate how overwhelming it can be to find the right person, especially when you’re facing difficulties. Whether it's your first time or you've been through this before, finding someone who understands, respects, and doesn’t judge you can feel like a daunting task. My aim is to offer you the same understanding, empathy and support I once sought.

Reaching out for help can feel like a huge step, especially if you're struggling with past trauma, grief, or challenges in understanding who you are. I’m here to walk alongside you, offering a compassionate space where you don't feel alone or judged. I believe that you are the expert of your own story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming your challenges, I have deep respect for your courage in seeking change and growth.

As a humanistic therapist, I focus on understanding "what happened to you" rather than "what is wrong with you." I integrate various compassionate, client-centered approaches, adapting my work to suit your unique needs By respecting your individuality and ensuring you feel heard, not judged we can work together to help you build self-awareness, empowering you to discover healthier ways to engage with yourself and others.

I’m also a qualified EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapist, registered with the EMDR Association of UK & Europe. If you’re experiencing trauma-related symptoms, EMDR could help you process past events to break free of the emotional impact of your past.

Whilst the relationship we build can help you test new ways of being which support your growth, it feels equally important that I bring my authentic self into our sessions. By balancing my approach, evidence-based practice and me, as a human being,  I can help you explore and create the changes you seek.

Practice description

I currently offer both short-term (12 sessions or less) and long-term (not time limited) sessions with individuals.

I offer face-to-face sessions from my private room near Arundel. I endeavour to offer a safe, calm, and confidential space for you to explore your experiences, thoughts and feelings. There is off-street parking and toilet facilities are available.

I also work remotely, offering sessions via video or telephone depending on your preference. Online therapy can sometimes offer more flexibility if life feels busy for you right now.

I am an accredited member of the BACP, adhering to their ethical framework for professional practice and maintain a high level of ongoing professional development to ensure my skills and knowledge are up to date and I practice safely and ethically.

I provide a safe, affirming space for individuals of all identities, including those in the LGBTQ+ community. I specialise in supporting those healing from trauma, domestic abuse, and sexual violence. My approach is trauma-informed and client-centred, allowing us to work together at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

Using techniques like EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), I help you process and heal from distressing memories, enabling you to regain a sense of control and peace. My goal is to empower you to overcome challenges, strengthen your resilience, and build a healthier future.

I am committed to creating an inclusive, compassionate environment where you can feel heard, understood, and supported without judgment. Whatever your experience or background, you can expect to be treated with respect, empathy, and a deep commitment to your well-being.

My first session

I offer a free 20-minute consultation so we can talk through what support you are seeking and whether I am the right person to walk with you on this part of your journey. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have about how I work and what to expect from our sessions.

If we both agree that we can establish a therapeutic relationship, during our first session we will establish the frequency of your sessions, potential length of treatment, and payment information in the form of a contract which we will review throughout our work together.

Given my background in working with individuals who have experienced trauma, I will work to your pace. Our initial sessions allow us to build a relationship that you can start to trust in which creates an environment that feels safe for you to explore your experiences. We can begin with stabilisation and grounding techniques so you can start to build the resilience you need to process what has happened to you. I will offer you compassion and care through this process, always putting your needs and safety at the forefront of the work we do together.

Although a 20-minute consultation will allow you to get a sense of who I am and whether you feel we can work together, we will check in with each other in these initial sessions to ensure you are comfortable working with me. I want to foster a space where your "no" is equally as valuable as your "yes" so if anything doesn't feel OK, we can explore this together and either work to change it, or I can support you to find another therapist who feels more aligned to your needs.

About me and my therapy practice

Hi, I'm Jaye, a qualified humanistic and integrative counselling and psychotherapy supervisor with significant experience in the helping professions, I have dedicated my career to fostering the personal and professional growth of clients and now counsellors through humanistic supervision. My extensive background includes working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and presenting various concerns.

My supervision approach is rooted in the principles of humanistic counselling. I believe in creating a collaborative and empathetic space where counsellors can explore their experiences, enhance self-awareness, and develop their unique therapeutic style. I draw from person-centered, existential, and gestalt therapy modalities to tailor supervision to the individual needs and goals of each supervisee whilst integrating unconscious process and developemental theory to gain deeper insight into yours and your clients process using the therapeutic relationship as our guide.

I am passionate about empowering counsellors to tap into their innate potential and authenticity. Supervision, in my view, is a co-creative process where both supervisor and supervisee engage in a reflective and transformative journey. I am committed to creating a non-judgmental and supportive environment that encourages self-discovery, self-acceptance, and continuous professional development.

I believe that ongoing learning is fundamental to our profession. Through a collaborative approach, I encourage open dialogue, reflective practice, and the exploration of diverse perspectives. This promotes a dynamic and enriching supervisory relationship that contributes to the evolution of both the supervisee and the supervisor.

Practice description

I am based near Arundel, West Sussex offering both face-to-face and online supervision sessions, providing you with flexibility while maintaining a safe, confidential space where we can explore your thoughts and feelings related to client work.

In our sessions, you can expect a supportive, non-judgmental environment where we delve into the emotional and professional aspects of your practice. Whether you’re processing complex cases or navigating personal reactions to client work, I’m here to help you build insight, develop strategies, and nurture your professional growth. I specialise in trauma, domestic violence, and sexual abuse, and I’m passionate about supporting supervisees working in these sensitive areas, allowing you space to decompress from potentially difficult or triggering sessions.

I offer a space that is fully confidential, with off-street parking and toilet facilities available for your convenience. As an LGBTQ+ ally, I create an inclusive environment where diversity is respected, and everyone feels welcome.

While I am EMDR-qualified, I do not offer supervision specifically in EMDR, but I will guide you in exploring how to integrate different therapeutic approaches into your work. I’m committed to your continuing professional development, ensuring that our sessions provide opportunities for growth and learning.

With my training and roots in Humanistic and Integrative therapy you can expect to be challenged, supported, and occasionally lightened by humour. I believe that meeting each other as the fallible humans we are can help you foster both your personal and professional development.

My first session

Initially I offer a free 30-minute consultation, allowing me to learn about your practice and for you to get a sense of who I am as a supervisor. This is a chance for us to discuss your current work, any challenges you're facing, and how we can best collaborate to support your development as a therapist.

Our first session is an opportunity to establish mutual trust, discuss your supervision goals, and make sure that I am the right supervisor to help you grow and reflect on your practice.

We’ll take time to develop our working contract, ensuring clarity around expectations, boundaries, and the structure of our supervision relationship. This contract will be tailored to meet your needs and set the foundation for a professional and supportive supervisory partnership.

For group supervision, I ensure that everyone’s needs are met by structuring the time thoughtfully so that each participant has the opportunity to share and reflect. I aim to create a balanced, inclusive environment where all voices are heard.

I charge £65 per hour for supervision. In line with the BACP requirements of a minimum of 1.5 hours of supervision per month; rates will be pro-rata'd. My group supervision rates are £70 per hour which will be pro-rata'd depending on the needs of your group.
