My qualifications include:

  • FdSc Integrative Counselling (University of Ulster)

  • Certificate Complex Trauma and Childhood Sexual Abuse (accredited by NCPS)

I am a member of the Association of Christian Counsellors

Practice description

I work in collaboration with my clients.  This can be a directive or non-directive approach. I use therapeutic techniques to help us move to your goals.

Depending on what makes the most sense to you, I can use the following therapeutic modalities:

  • Integrative
  • CBT
  • Person-centred
  • Psychodynamic
  • Transactional Analysis

I offer trauma counselling and bereavement counselling. My work includes those who have conflict in their personal relationships, self-esteem problems and attachment issues.

My aim for you is to work toward self-awareness, that will uncover the reasons why your mental health and/or emotional difficulties have impacted your life. Using knowledge and counselling techniques we can enable healing, by working towards recovery, where you can find your true self and onto a place where you can live your best life.

My first session

I offer a free 15 minute initial consultation on the phone. After this there is no commitment to continue because I recognise you need to find the right counsellor to suit your needs.  If you want to continue we will meet in-person.

Sessions are weekly and typically last 50 minutes. These sessions can be open ended or time limited.

Our first session will be slightly different than the following ones, as it is an assessment.  After this we will look at coping mechanisms necessary to safely explore how you have gotten to your current situation. During the following sessions we will use therapeutic techniques to enable you to understand 'why you do the things you do'. Then we will work toward healing and having consensus in your life.
