About me and my therapy practice

Hello my name is Sarah and I am an experienced integrative counsellor. This means, that I can use different theories and techniques, to help support you through your journey.

Life is not always easy, and at times we may find ourselves feeling anxious, depressed, stressed and generally unhappy with ourselves and our current situation. These feelings, can become so overwhelming that we may feel unable to talk to our family or friends.  My aim, is to make you feel at ease, to listen and support you. I am down to earth and my work is always respectful, non-judgemental and confidential.

I am currently working in a secondary school.  I have been there for the last three years. In that time I have worked with students, staff and parents. I have gained a lot of experience and have worked with a range of issues. Such as bullying, self harm, suicidal thoughts, depression, body dysmorphia, anxiety, low mood, exam pressure, OCD, gender related issues and PTSD.

Practice description

I am currently working remotely. I can offer sessions via Skype, zoom or on the telephone. I am able to offer short term therapy, or longer term open ended therapy.  I will be guided by what works best for you. I offer a free ten minute telephone session, this gives you the opportunity to get to know me and how I work. Also, to ask any questions you might have.

My first session

Sessions are 50 minutes (therapeutic hour). The first session is a great opportunity, to see if we are a good fit to work together. This gives you a chance to see if I am someone you feel comfortable talking to and want to share your experiences with.

It might be, that this is your first time talking to a counsellor and I understand how daunting that can be. I am very down to earth and I would like the opportunity to show you that counselling isn't scary. It's an opportunity to talk freely and to really be heard.  All of our sessions are confidential. I am a member of the BACP, and am bound by there code of ethics.

Anyway that's more than enough about me, I look forward to hearing about you.
