About me and my therapy practice
I work collaboratively with you to support you in your emotional wellbeing, to help you develop skills in self-care and to foster a deeper understanding of yourself.
My role is to meet you where you are and support you in your growth and healing.
The way I work is integrative, which means I blend many psychological theories together in a unique way for each client. I listen to your story, then I help you to understand your story and together we find a way of retelling your story that gives different insights and perspectives. We won't solely focus on the difficult experiences you've been through, it is important that we process these and then find hope and a way to move forwards. My core approach is the person centred model, but I integrate aspects of humanistic, existential, psychodynamic and narrative therapy as and when they are needed in the process.
In a session with me you are allowed to be completely yourself and express to me whatever is on your mind. I will help you to explore your emotions and have an opportunity to look at things from a different perspective, and to not feel alone. I will be authentic with you in a session and allow myself to be human, and I hope that this will help you to be yourself with me also.
I believe that we all hold our own truth and answers within and that we all deserve the space and support needed to understand ourselves better and to overcome our insecurities. I believe that with the right nurturing and safe environment we can heal from hurt, grow and develop into the best versions of ourselves.
I run an online & remote practice working with clients all over the UK, working via webcam and via email.
I am particularly passionate about helping millennials and young people with the struggles that they face, using my experience as a millennial to inform my understanding.
I offer one-on-one therapy via Microsoft Teams so that you can access therapy from the comfort of your own home, wherever you are in the world. This means that the therapy I offer is tailored to you, to fit around your life, to make it easy to prioritise your emotional wellbeing amid what is undoubtedly a hectic schedule.
I am able to provide you with therapeutic help and responses via secure email and you are able to take the time to reply when convenient. This allows you to be in full control of when your 'session' happens, you can reply at any time of day or night, and you can email when you are experiencing thoughts and feelings which gives me real insight into the issues that are troubling you. I will send my therapeutic reply within 72 hours of receiving your email and then you may reflect as you wish before responding.
I have completed a diploma with the OCST in providing online counselling, and therefore am qualified to provide therapy via webcam & email. I am also registered with ACTO.
My first session
I offer a free 15-20 minute consultation either via Microsoft Teams, for you to get a feel for working with me and to ask any questions you may have. You are under no obligation to work with me after the consultation but if we do decide to work together we will book in our first session or email exchanges.
In the first session, I will ask you to tell me your story and what has brought you to me at this point in your life. We will talk about your relationships, your goals, strengths and weaknesses and we will think about what you would like to achieve in therapy and how best I can help you in this process.
