My working hours are relatively flexible. Sessions will be arranged at a mutually agreeable time and place, during a free of charge twenty minute conflation.
I am mindful that not all perspective clients like (or are able) to talk on the telephone or via zoom; for these clients, I offer face-to-face twenty minute consultation session.
About me and my therapy practice
Life can be challenging and choosing the right therapist may seem like a daunting prospect. Are you overwhelmed by information or confused about who to contact? Let me simplify things and tell you about myself and how I work:
I am an integrative therapist, working with clients from 11 years+ I work with individuals, couples and families. Being an integrative therapist allows me to concentrate on each individual client and adapt my practice in accordance to their needs. What sits at the heart of each therapeutic encounter is the relationship.
As a natural empath, my background is in the caring profession, having worked with both young people and the elderly. All work undertaken is either face-to-face, online (using zoom), telephone and walk and talk; I have a fondness for nature and for that reason, I offer outside sessions in a mutually convenient destination (with or without my therapy dog Winston).
I have over twelve years experience in a secondary school. I did individual sessions and group work with the students; these sessions focused on anxiety, body image, anger and low self-esteem.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, I undertook specialist training in online and telephone work enabling me to take my practice online. Moving with the times is important to me and for that reason I regularly partake in CPD workshops focused around a variety of different topics. Examples of recent CPD workshops are:
Suicide and self-harm prevention
LGBTQ+ Awareness
Postpartum Depression
Neurodiversity in the Therapy Room
My work centres around the therapeutic alliance between myself and my client. I will use a combination of CBT, Person centred and Gestalt therapy. I will encourage self-awareness and review every six-weeks to ensure you are gaining what you feel you need from the sessions. Appreciating a one-size-fits-all approach is not productive, I will adapt my practice in accordance to your individual needs.
My first session
During your first session I will ask you some assessment questions. This will enable us to map out a treatment plan for you and give you the opportunity to ask me any questions you might have.
A contract will be issued for you to sign if you are happy to do so. This will have contact details for next of kin and will give you practicalities such as payment details.

Practice description
I have two therapy rooms in different locations. I am mindful that not all clients are able to relax within four walls; for that reason, I do offer walk-and-talk sessions amongst nature. I have a therapy dog called Winston who accompanies us during these sessions.
Similarly, if you are unable to attend sessions due to disability or other reasons, I am happy to come to you (terms are discussed prior to this happening).
My first session
After an initial free of charge consultation, if you feel comfortable and think we can work together, you will have your first therapy session. During this session I will ask you a series of assessment questions and go through what you would like to get out of therapy. This is your opportunity to tell me what goals (if any) you have and for you to be able to ask any questions you feel need answering.
If the session is with a young person (under 18) I will read my safeguarding policy out and ensure the young person and their parent understands this. If the parent/child feels more comfortable with the parent present, I do allow this to happen during this initial process.

About me and my therapy practice
I am registered member of the BACP and work in accordance to this. All work undertaken is in the strictest of confidence.
I am an integrative supervisor who uses the 7-eyed model of supervision. This looks at various areas around your work with the clients and how this impacts on you.
I offer a safe non-judgemental approach to supervision which allows you to explore your client work safely and understand what is happening between you and your client/s. Supervision is a pivotal part of any successful therapeutic alliance, and I pride myself in being able to work alongside you, supporting you in your working practice.
Practice description
Whilst being professional, I am also empathetic and caring. I value supervision sessions and understand the importance of building, and sustaining, a professional relationship with all supervises. If you feel I might be the supervisor for you, I offer a free, no obligation, telephone consultation.
My first session
During our first session, we will look at the supervision contract which allows you to ask any questions you feel you might have. I will explain how and what I offer in supervision and you will have the opportunity to present me with your current caseload.
I encourage supervises to seek CPD opportunities and will ask you about anything you have done or are thinking of doing. We will explore CPD opportunities frequently.
Supervision is collaborative; I will learn from you as well as you learning from me. I will share interventions I have found helpful with clients, if I feel it is appropriate to do so. I would also encourage you to share things you have found advantageous in your client work.
