About me and my therapy practice
Hello and welcome.
Counselling and psychotherapy is a great resource to help you deal with a particular difficult experience, support you during a period of upheaval and change, or simply assist you to better understand yourself.
Regardless of what brings you to therapy, I am here to provide a supportive, contained and soulful space within which to explore what may feel difficult or troublesome whether from the past or at this moment in your life. Our work together is about giving you the space to share your story, be witnessed and bring all aspects of yourself at a pace that feels right for you. My commitment is that I will accompany you in this journey in a respectful, empathic and non-judgemental way.
I do not favour one particular approach over another and being trained as an integrative counsellor means that I am able to draw from different theoretical approaches to match your needs. The therapeutic relationship between us is likely to be at the heart of our work both as a vehicle for healing and change, and for better understanding your relationship patterns.
Over the years, I have worked with a wide range of men and women supporting them along major transitions. Some of the issues I have supported my clients include: self-esteem, anxiety, depression, sexual abuse, bereavement, sexuality, HIV diagnosis, lack of meaning, career change, relationship difficulties, loneliness, existential crisis, grief, and loss.
In addition, I have experience supporting recovering addicts working a 12-Step program.
I see clients in Walthamstow, East London (E17) and I can offer both short and long-term counselling. Sessions offered in English & Greek.
Daytime/afternoon appointments are £50.
My practice is based Walthamstow Village, an 8-minute walk from the Overground & Tube station.
From Oxford Circus – Victoria Line (20min)
From Liverpool Street Station – Overground Train (17min).
My first session
The first session is mostly exploratory, giving you the opportunity to expand on the reasons why you are seeking counselling at this moment in your life and what you expect to get out of it. There will also be plenty of space for your questions and to discuss the practical aspects of working together such as the fee, frequency, cancellation policy, confidentiality etc., which will form the contract for all future work.
This first meeting is also about getting a feel of what counselling is like, whether it is something you would like to commit further, and whether you think I am the right therapist for you. Even if this is not the case - or I consider that your issues may better served by someone else - I would be happy to recommend different colleagues and offer you other useful resources.
