About me and my therapy practice
Hello I’m Sharon. Thinking about the possibilities of therapy and changes you’d like? Looking forward to a happier you? We could find a way through together. Therapy is an incredible experience and a positive step. I offer varied approaches tailored to you.
People come to therapy for many different reasons. Would you like be Feeling more emotionally balanced? Know and like yourself more? Feeling less stuck and want change? Hoping to heal and recover from your experiences? Improve your relationships? What ever your reasons I'm approachable and will help you feel at ease.
• I aim to bring wellbeing to the comfort of your home, offering video or phone sessions.
• I work with anyone over 18yrs. You can be yourself, I never judge anyone.
• I offer the use of wellbeing questionnaires that can help track how things are going. These are optional and a personal choice.
I provide a flexible structure so you can focus on you. It will feel natural and conversational as I use models, theories and approaches based in research and good practice. If I know you want to explore your emotions I’ll help with that. If you want to know ‘Why do I do that? We’ll look at processes. If you want to understand yourself, your relationships and experiences we’ll give that the focus. I’ll keep your goals in mind as we work together and we will notice and build on positive changes.
My way of working within the ‘Talking Therapies’ field is known as person-centred, experiential and relational. Together we can understand your experiences, issues or problems. I stay with you, as you think, share, remember, wonder, find the words, cry, are quiet, laugh, get mad…anything really. I won’t be shaken or shocked.
I also have expertise in supporting supporting healthy lifestyles. Getting a sense of our ‘whole’ selves is beneficial. You may want me to bring this into your sessions.
Training, qualifications and experience
Over 25 years of experience working in different areas of health and education. Working in NHS, Public Health with schools and families, colleges and universities before training and becoming a psychotherapist over the last 5 years.

My first session
The first time we meet will be your free 30min appointment. This is informal and will help you decide if we could work together.
If you do decide to book a first session we would spend time finding out about what you would like to get out of your therapy sessions. Starting to get to know each other, with the focus on you and for you to start with any information you are comfortable to share at this stage. I would be able to hear your hopes for this session and those ahead. Discussion of expectations, ways of working and finding out your preferences are all important to me. I offer an adaptable approach and you would be at the centre of any decisions made.
I will explain my therapist agreement, confidentiality and on-line working. I would have emailed ahead these documents so its easier in the session. If the idea of wellbeing measures are of interest I would explain them, these are optional and a personal choice.
