About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I’m Lucy. I see myself as a warm and open-minded person who understands that we all go through challenging periods in life when things feel overwhelming. Sometimes life can be hard; complicated, confusing and painful. You may be feeling stuck or struggling with something on your own and I appreciate that this can feel like a very lonely and isolating experience. I am here to listen and support you. I offer a safe, non-judgemental and confidential space for you to explore any difficulties you might be facing.
I know it can be hard to express unspoken thoughts or difficult emotions such as shame, guilt or anger, so I hope to build a trusting therapeutic relationship in which you feel comfortable and heard. Counselling with me offers a kind and safe space to explore and reflect on your experiences, gaining a deeper understanding at your own pace.
I typically work with people who are struggling with depression, anxiety, self esteem issues or generally feeling sad and want a sense of freedom from the feelings of self doubt or negative self talk which they feel are holding them back. I have an special interest in issues around food and hold a specialist certificate in working with Eating Disorders.
My first session
I understand reaching out may feel daunting or nerve-racking, especially if this is your first experience of counselling. I offer a free 20-minute informal phone call to get to know each other, so I can get a sense of what is troubling you and how counselling may help you. Please feel free to email or message me and we can decide where to go from there :)
