About me and my therapy practice

“Sometimes having someone to talk to who isn't involved in your life can help you to see things more clearly”

I am Accredited by the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.

and also a Member of the BACP

Including the Specialist Division for Counsellors in Private Practice.

I am a RELATE trained Relationship Counsellor and a qualified School Counsellor.

For your reassurance and safety this means that I follow a strict ethical framework for good practice.

I have a small private clinical practice of my own based between Tamworth and Nuneaton and I work face to face or online via a Zoom secure video link.

My overall experience spans twenty-five years.

During this time, I have worked with adults and children experiencing various levels of mental health difficulties.

Continued learning means I have the skills to support you through relationship breakdown, gaslighting, bullying and other destructive behaviour patterns.

Co-parenting following divorce or separation, anger, post traumatic stress, depression, low self esteem, anxiety, bi-polar, autism, acquired brain injury, personality disorder, cancer, pre and post bereavement work, Covid and NHS staff bereavement trauma.

Counselling is not about giving advice or making judgements about you.

I guess you've already had plenty of that if you're looking for a counsellor.

We are all unique in that we have different needs.

I feel the relationship between you and I to be the most important part of your decision to work with me.

Only you can decide what's right for you -

and I'm available for you

if you feel the time is right

Practice description

My job is to listen and try to understand your feelings, so that you can make decisions about your life and move forward.

Therapy will give you the tools to process your feelings, thoughts and emotions in a different way.

The skills you learn will be enlightening and helpful in supporting you, not just now, but also in the future.

My clients often say that their therapy was money well spent.

I agree,

because going to a therapist changed my understanding and lifestyle to such an extent that I became a therapist too.

I wanted to share the skills that I didn’t learn in school with people like me and you.

Good luck in your search

My first session

Initially we would meet for approximately sixty minutes and talk through what it is you may require from counselling.

I won’t judge you or tell you what to do. I will be listening to you.

Then together we will find a way for you to decide if you feel comfortable working with me, which is probably the most important part of a counselling relationship.

Would you feel comfortable sharing your deepest thoughts and feelings with me as your therapist ?

The cost is the same as a session fee and there is no obligation for you to return unless you feel sure this is what you would like to do.
