About me and my therapy practice
Have you lost someone you cared for, a pet or close friend. Do you find yourself feeling sad, guilty and alone wishing things could change? Perhaps your health and well-being is suffering? Have you been affected by cancer? Is your confidence low or the pressure on yours shoulders building?
I help people talk about how their experiences of loss are affecting their life, from the loss of someone close to the loss of a job, a way of life or sense of identity.
I have the deepest commitment to offering a counselling service which is welcoming and supportive to all without discrimination.
Due to the Coronavirus crisis I currently offer online & on telephone counselling. At this time, if you are worried, upset or distressed, finding someone to talk to in a private and confidential space, can feel safe and comforting.
Advantages of online/telephone counselling
- You can have counselling if you live in a remote area
- You can have counselling if you are unwell or do not want to travel
- Appointments are more flexible. Daytime and evening appointments are available.
- You can speak to a counsellor outside your immediate area
- You may find it more comfortable and easier to talk online
I believe in creating a counselling relationship for clients with trust at its heart. Together we can take time to work through your problems, traumas and difficulties at your pace and in your time. I believe you deserve to be heard - that's why I became a counsellor.

I work with people who have been affected by:
- Loss in parts of your life
- Bereavement and mourning
- Cancer & health issues
- Caring for another
- Fear & sadness
I also work with the associated relationship difficulties and aspects of trauma.
I work with people who have a diagnosis of Trigeminal Neuralgia (TN). I understand how challenging and painful this condition can be. Being able to talk with someone who understands this can be a relief.
I recognise that particular times of year and stages of life can influence how our emotions affect us, perhaps bringing up anxieties we thought were over.
MSc in Counselling Psychology
BSc (Hons) Psychology
Certificate in Online and Telephone Counselling
Certificate in Couples and Relationship Counselling
Certificate in Understanding Loss and Grief
My MSc academic research focused on carers and their well-being. I still have a deep interest in the needs of carers and how they are affected by their caring role.
- I have worked as a counsellor with a cancer charity. I have significant experience of working with people with a cancer diagnosis, their families and carers
- I work with a local hospice as a volunteer counsellor, working with bereaved clients, carers and people affected by health issues.
I believe that everyone can benefit from counselling, whether its 1 session or 20 sessions. We all deserve to be heard, to share our worries and concerns with someone who listens, doesn’t judge or tell us what to do.
