About me and my therapy practice

Are you feeling anxious, depressed or lost, or having relationship difficulties? Are you looking for a counsellor who will listen to you, support you and help you make sense of what is going on? If so, please get in touch for a free, no-obligation consultation via Zoom or phone and see if I am the right therapist for you.

I can offer counselling sessions in person in St Albans, about 12 minutes from St Albans City station, or online. I specialise in helping people who have anxiety, self-esteem and self-confidence issues. Sometimes these issues have come up recently after something like a bereavement, work problems, or a break-up, for instance.

Or sometimes anxiety or depression feel like they have always been there, more or less, but it’s got to a point where you just have to deal with them. It might be that issues from the past, or patterns in relationships, just keep bubbling up and you want to figure them out and move on.

I will give you a safe, supportive and non-judgemental environment to talk about your life and your feelings. I will really listen to you.

Together we will work to understand the issues, how you can deal with them, and how you can live a more fulfilling life and make the changes in your life you seek.

We cannot predict the future, especially in the strange days of 2021. But you can get to know yourself better, build self-esteem, resilience, and self-acceptance. If you’d like to see how I can help you with that, please get in touch for a free consultation via phone or video.

Practice description

I offer counselling to adults, older adults and young people in St Albans. I specialise in anxiety and low-self esteem, and I work with people to develop self-confidence, resilience and self-acceptance.

I see people from all ethnicities, backgrounds and walks of life. I work from a comfortable and quiet office in St Albans AL1 near the station and with parking very nearby.

I offer long-term psychotherapy or short-term focused counselling depending on what is best for each person. It’s generally once a week but we can talk about that being more, or less, frequent if that feels right.

I put the relationship between you the client and me the counsellor at the heart of what I do. I believe that trust, confidentiality, reliability and honesty are absolutely central and vital to therapeutic change.

Starting counselling and therapy can feel like a big step. If you want to ask me any questions about what I can do for you, how I work, what the process is and so on, you are welcome to give me a call, text or email, or leave a voicemail. We can have a free, no-obligation chat on the phone or via Zoom, FaceTime or Skype to help you decide if I'm the right counsellor for you.

These are tough times for many people financially, so session fees are set on a sliding scale based on what clients can pay and are comfortable paying. We can discuss this when you get in touch.

I am a qualified and experienced counsellor and I abide by BACP ethical guidelines. I have an MSc in Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy from Birkbeck, University of London.
