About me and my therapy practice
As an integrative therapist I aim to use various approaches in order to meet your needs as a client.
Working together, we will explore the reasons you have come to therapy and how I can best help you move forward in life.
Sometimes life can be really difficult and we need someone outside of our situation to talk to about what is going on for us. I can be that other person, to help you work through what ever is going on for you, so that you can find greater peace and happiness in your life.
I provide a warm, safe and non-judgmental space for you to explore whatever is causing you concerns. I will also challenge you at times (in a supportive way), to identify any self-defeating thoughts or behavioural patterns you may be exhibiting.
ALL of my work is in the service of your needs and addressing the issues and concerns that have brought you to therapy.
I carry out sessions in person, or via video or telephone, depending on the client's needs and preferences.
My first session
In our first session, we will explore why you are seeking therapy and why now.
This will be an opportunity to get to know each other and decide whether we would like to continue to work together.
I know how important it is for a client to feel very comfortable with their therapist, if they are going to be able to fully open up about what is happening for them, their personal history, and to share their dreams and goals (or to work out what they might be).
If you are happy to continue sessions with me, we will jointly agree session frequency and number of sessions, etc. It is important for me that the client feels like a partner in the therapeutic relationship.
